CLOUD DATABASE
The
database which runs on a cloud platform and "AS-A-Service “ provides an approach
to a user to gain access is known as Cloud Database.
DATABASE-AS-A-SERVICE (DBaaS) –
Now with coming of cloud database, people who possess applications need not maintain
the database work by themselves as the database as a service model provides for the
same. Facilities are given as application owners are charged on basis of subscription as
per usage and service providers do install and maintaining the database. Oracle grants for
users to work on 11g and 12c and provides its own database as a service.
Many times web-based consoles are provided by most database services and customers
are able to configure databases. Database- Manager- component is also present which
with the help of service API helps manage a database.
DATA MODEL
Data Management and RDBMS are the prime sources which help construct such design
and development of the models or systems. There can be two types cloud databases
which are as follows –

SQL Databases- Databases like Oracle which are based on SQL are SQL Databases.
NOSQL DATABASES- As the name predicts, databases like MongoDB belongs to this
category. It runs in the cloud and comparatively provides better scalability.
